News, review, interviews, competitions all in Sound Control's monthly play mag.
Sound Control approached 2Fluid to design and produce a monthly music magazine focusing on products, interviews and reviews. The magazines objectives were to appeal to a wide range of music enthusiasts, be commercially focused but still retain an aspirational quality.
The Play magazines mast head and brand identity was designed to have maximum impact in the retail stores of Sound Control and always remains a consistant element.
The rest of the cover is left open for interpretation each month to allow a a greater degree of flexibility and design freedom as the focus changes dramatically from issue to issue. A template, style guide, and font useage system was created for fast implementation of the inner pages and to ensure consistency throughout.
Play Mag has made a significant impact over the last 5 years it now has a readership of over 60,000 subscribers to the monthly magazine that started life as a free leaflet.
